Week #2:)

Well we have been here another week and we really havent done to many interesting things. We are still in the guesthouse until Sunday and we can not wait to move! It is nice though to live here with Lulu and Jen because they are cool and we wont have the internet for about a month or so after we move so I will miss that too. It will be good to get to the new apartment in Sakura because it is within walking distance of work and I wont have to ride the train anymore.

Well last weekend we went to a school in Narita for an event which was pretty cool. The kids at the school had been preparing for the whole year for this event, so they were all really excited and happy for us to be there. We were like celebrity's! There was a game where they had to all ask us for our autographs which meant that there were swarms of little kids running up to you "sign please" "thank you". Anyway so we stayed through lunch and Ricky player Snag Golf with the 4th years and I watched a presentation and played games with the 1st years. Really cute stuff. The coolest thing that happened though is that Ricky left his camera on the bus.... and we actually got it back! They mailed it to us and everything! Really really honest people here:)

Then this week I have been going to work to observe the teacher that I am taking over for. That is going pretty well so far. Most have the classes have been pretty well behaved minus the Jr High girls, but you really cant expect that much from them... well see next week.

Setteling into Japanland...

Okay so we have been in Japan for officially a week now and things are all going pretty well. We got here last Thursday afternoon and were picked up at the airport and taken to the guesthouse where we will unfortunately be staying for about 2 weeks. It really isn't that bad at the guesthouse, the bed Ricky and I share is just really small. It is pretty much just a camp bed size futon.

Anyway we have met some really nice people so far Lulu and Jen are two other teachers who are staying in the guesthouse with us. Then last night Monique, who is the teacher that I am taking over for, invited us to dinner. We got to see the apartment that we will be living in as of the end of this month. It was pretty cute and has plenty of space for the two of us. I definitely lucked out as far as our apartment and my job!

Well this week we have just been training which was pretty... boring but informative. Then next week we will be observing the teachers that we are taking over for, so I am excited about that.

Before training we got to go to Narita and see the huge temple that is there and the waterfall in the park that is beside it. We also went to Tokyo and ate a crepe... So so far so good.
